Theft of Motor Vehicle - Linton Avenue - Borehamwood

Between 03/09/2025 21:20 - 04/09/2025 08:30 a theft of a motor vehicle occurred in Linton Avenue, Borehamwood

Limited details as follows, Victim last used their vehicle on the 3rd and left the bike locked up and secure outside their home address. Victim returned to their bike the morning after on the 4th and discovered the bike was missing. Its unknown what direction the offender(s) have left in. The victims vehicle was later recovered near to victims home address. The bike was located in the brook in Aberford park.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox or a keyless signal can be received by relay devices.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers, steering wheel locks or ghost immobilisers.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
